Why do I hand-dye my own fabrics?
Why hand-dye, when it's so labor intensive and time consuming? Why hand-dye, when we live in a world with Spoonflower, and Kona cotton comes in every color under the sun?
I hand-dye for the *muchness.*
You know, in Alice in Wonderland, when the Mad Hatter tells Alice that she's lost her "muchness?" It's that quality of... specialness, that most-important extra something.
It’s the reason that photographers continue their love affair with film.
It’s the reason you keep that family recipe for pasta sauce, even though a jar at the store is only $2.
I hand-dye for the muchness. And I love bringing that *muchness* to everyday stuff, like my tea towels. Beautiful + functional is where it's at, loves.
