I dropped Julian off at school this morning, then I planned to go for a short walk. I forgot my headphones! Oh man, I was so bummed, this is going to be boooooring.
Taking that walk in the quiet woods turned out to be The Best Thing. It's so easy to forget how being outside wakes up your senses. The humid air on my arms, the sound of the birds and rustling leaves, the ferns and moss growing on the rocks... My senses woke up and my brain quieted down, and I breathed.
I remembered, then, that the inspiration comes from the quiet, not the noise.
When the inspiration hit, I recorded a couple voice memos of exciting ideas for my shop. And because my brain was in that content, quiet place, I didn't need to dissect the ideas or obsess over them. I just got them into the phone, knew they were good... and put the phone away.
Happy Friday, now I'M GONNA GO MAKE THINGS!!!
